Welcome to the Central Coast – Half Way There
Things start getting rugged on Highway 1 as you transition from the Pismo Beach area, turn inland and head through the City of San Luis Obispo before turning northwest toward the 250 mile mark in Cayucos. This is the half way point of the California Coast 500 and the Southern entrance to this lightly inhabited land, which is both wild and beautiful.
